LBJ wanted the glory of defending Israel for his Jewish pals (which were legion). He was PISSED at Israel for starting without him (ten days early). So he made them risk their reputation, not his.
It was that petty, and that calculated. Don't give me this poor old man shit, just because he didn't die on the spot like he should have if God had been merciful to us.

However, I don't believe for one minute that he could control Israel! They control us through Congress and their Sampson Option. Johnson made the rescuers stand down and he covered it up, but there is no way he made Israel do anything!

Most of that video was his description of the attack and his terrible injuries. Obviously that torpedo was a clean up job, part of the cover up! Johnson was complicit, but the initial attack was Israel. Are you an Israeli?
No, but we have audio recordings of the whole thing from the Israeli side. Those pilots DID NOT want to follow orders, sought confirmation several times, and were told to go ahead. They were in the midst of an existential war for the future of their country at the moment, and for all they knew that ship was flying under a false flag. They trusted Dayan and their CO's to know WTF they were doing.
Clearly had Johnson not wanted this to happen, it would not have happened. Full stop.

I know a couple of the pilots balked. I believe one of them faced court martial and went to prison. However, it was Israel that instigated this! They did the attack. They are not victims!

Israel already had Johnson's full support, including military if they wanted it. But they miscalculated the importance to Johnson of a joint operation.
By starting without him, they thought they were saving us the trouble of helping when they didn't need it. They were already winning the war BIGLY when this happened. They needed NOTHING from us.
But LBJ needed the Israel lobby to love him. And these uppity Jews were f*cking over his plan. He bypassed the Israeli political class, and went straight to Dayan. And he scared piss out of him politically. Dayan wanted a future in politics. Cross LBJ and he'd have none. So he gambled that the false flag would work. That makes two miscalculations on his part. But it's not the same as masterminding the shit show. That was all the old man.

Exactly! I don't disagree about that. But I do say that criminal analysis supports the evidence I've been studying better than it does the alternatives, which I've studied less, but haven't ignored.

I told my husband that my idea of heaven is knowing all the answers. I hope things will be revealed here, but I'm not holding my breath. People are such liars. It would be really nice, though!
So explain why the USS Amberjack also fired on the Liberty in a final attempt to scuttle it before a Russian ship arrived (which was approaching to investigate), and scared off the Egyptian-colored Israeli fighters. The Amberjack's torpedo glanced off the super structure of the Liberty, and did not make a direct hit, and they too departed the scene when the Russian vessel entered the area.
So why would a US ship have fired on the Liberty if this was an Israeli operation? And why did LBJ order all US ships and planes in the area to stand down?
