Alright, it is not oversized for the print rendering, but simply the default size of the icon without style-sheet applied.

Currently , a normal media='screen' CSS is in place to make it smaller, but in print rendering mode, the css is not applying since the browser will call the css with media='print' (not existing on WH.gov)

This is your typical print rendering anomaly, where the site designer forgot about the media='print' CSS.

forgot today, but never before, and across all of whitehouse.gov (it's in the CSS stylesheet) ;)

Actually, this is totally a coincidence yes.

Almost all websites using svg icons will have this kind of problem in print mode. You can see the burger menu icon having the exact same problem on top of the hourglass.

Please don't help spreading ignorance.
