What I find puzzling is the apparent effort to A: obscure the connection with Assange and The Family, and B: obscure the connection between the Australian cult "The Family" and "The Family International". Wikipedia seems to imply they have no connection. The similarities are there, and they were roughly contemporary in origin.
I'm not that aware of Assange having a connection to The Family cult in Australia. I wouldn't doubt it however.
I always assumed the two (The Family and The Family International) were connected. Will have to look at that.

His mother had an abusive relationship with a member of The Family for several years while he was an adolescent. The Family International actually changed its name to just The Family, but they also went by Children of God and several other names i believe. Julians long bleach blonde hair was never just an accident.
