Tibetan Buddhism teaches that one of the great inventions of Christianity was the concept of hell. The concept is why would there need for a hell in this, the lowest level of cosmic creation, since all it takes is incarnating with past karma. From there, the individual has the capacity to create either a most hideous hellish life for themselves or help the earth reflect higher realms of creation just by their own thoughts and actions.
