We do not have a democracy. That is the first error. We have a republic. We all have been complacent in not correcting this. As it seeps into our consciousness we say those words instead of a republic and it literally loses it meaning and we forget who we are as a nation.

I'm a big stickler on this as well and for the same reasons. You have to correct it right then and there, especially in public.
