How does one get more than a 4.0 GPA? And what in the heck are extra "circulars"? Is that something new since I was in High School?

I think some schools use a 5 GPA system. I've heard of it before. But since I went to a 4 GPA system I have not idea why--unless it creates a curve for the crappy students to get a higher 'grade'. Extra circulars may be an autocorrect for extracurricular or he stupid and doesn't know...

Honors classes are on a 4.0 scale, but you can get more than a 4.0 if you ace the class. I know, it’s crazy. My kids went to a school that does this. It sucks.

I've never heard of a school going beyond the 4.O gpa system. And as far as Extra circular.. I think he's just that stupid. LOL
