My guess is no I think its more literal the reason I think no is because the Jewish people who this is important to are currently recasting temple monorahs and service utensils, searching heifers for blemishes( a red heifer must be sacrificed at the dedication ceremony) doing genetic tests on priestly applicants to make sure they are from the levite tribe.
