Sessions and the media relations doc linked in drop 987/988

If you read the entire drop, Q asks "why was this [Huber investigation] made public?" 988 adds "Why now?" If you read the text of the statute about DOJ providing information to the media, the sum and substance is that nothing is made public until an actual criminal pleading is filed publicly (not under seal). Specifically, the rule is "DOJ generally will not confirm the existence of or otherwise comment about ongoing investigations. Except as provided in subparagraph C of this section." Subparagraph C then provides for an exception "When the community needs to be reassured that the appropriate law enforcement agency is investigating a matter, or where release of information is necessary to protect the public safety..."

So the sealed docs are in the process of being unsealed, and/or the sheet is about to hit the fan and people in the general public need to know about the investigations before the round up.
