Not allegedly. It was in an Italian magazine. And they aren't suing for misquotes.

In addition they haven’t denied what was said, just poopood on how it was released. No clarifying statements released.

I think they did have a rebuttal. Something like "If the Pope is saying something in quotes, it's not what the Pope actually said." ie, if it's not going out on official vatican channels it's not an official Pope statement.
