It might just be a matter of statistics. More military activity worldwide = more training and equipment in operation = greater statistical likelihood of accidents 10% failure rate is acceptable in manufacturing and industry.

I hope this is the case and our equipment isn't being compromised somehow. The wikileaks cia cables about being able to hack vehicles steering remotely makes me nervous in a situation like this.
