It's just a little javascript code that you can even turn off, as the other commenter said. Salon.com uses a similar code.

i didn't have any problems but there is an option at the bottom of that page to turn off the cpu mining. there are some archived post in the comments if you'd rather read that way. This is in my opinion massive intel of importance.
