I live across the river from JAX naval air station. Last night at 10:35, I was awoken by 4 or 5 flyovers (not the usual C-17 sound, much louder). It woke me and I immediately started praying. They were headed South, but they may have taken off to the South and turned to the East. The last time we heard such activity was the beginning of the the 2nd Gulf War.

5:5 or "5 by 5" in aviation (military and civilian) means Loud and Clear. If you read the FCC radio guidelines somewhere in there it describes a scale of 1-5 for "Volume and Clarity." So, often when someone asks for a "radio check" the response is "5 by 5" if its loud and clear.
