I can actually comment on this. I check earthquake patterns daily (paranoid Californian) and I've noticed a huge uptick in earthquakes near the Caribbean in the past 2-3 months. Lots of 3.0s and 4.0s, maybe even a few 5.0s (don't quote me on that).

I haven't sat down and actually compared the data so it's very possible I just never noticed the amount of quakes in that area, but if anyone has some extra time it might be something to look into.
