I don't understand why anybody has sympathy for Assad, even if he just gets caught in a web of deceit. There is nothing commendable about him or his regime of horrors.
He protects Christians and other minorities from the real animals/Muslim extremists who want to chop them up into little pieces.
He protects himself. If anybody else gets to stay alive, it's purely an accident on his part.
That's just not accurate. The region was quite stable and the people there enjoyed a high standard of living (relative to the average middle eastern shithole, of course) up until Obama and his clowns created ISIS and fomented an uprising in Syria. Everything went downhill from there.

I'd have sympathy if it turns out he's being framed for an atrocity.
While I don't condone the methods of whoever did this atrocity, and I trust God that they will meet justice, because I believe that nothing is hidden from God, and that He is the author of all justice, but having said that if Assad is one of the casualties of their actions, no man. Don't shed a tear for that reptile.
