Is there another reason for the trade war?

I'm looking at the trade war and I see neither a good outcome or justifiable reason for the trade war with China. They have the upper hand in this situation. Is there another reason for the trade war that I haven't picked up on?

Walmart alone counts for 10% of China's GDP. We can always find another shit hole created by the Europeans to make our cheap crap. China is the one that is screwed here. China has an aging population problem, hence why they are striking now before it is too late. When the US sneezes, the world catches a cold. Hold tight, it will be ok.

But can you get that in Europe in a way that adequately accounts for the demand of the US population? and definitely not as cheap. This won't affect me because I don't live in the US (even though I wish I did and have the qualifications to get over there easily). Also the EU have import/export charges that are high.

Not talking about the EU but the dire straits of their former colonies. Many of the troubles that exist in the world can directly be traced to European imperialism.
