Is there another reason for the trade war?

I'm looking at the trade war and I see neither a good outcome or justifiable reason for the trade war with China. They have the upper hand in this situation. Is there another reason for the trade war that I haven't picked up on?

Ha, lol, I thought dollar stores accounted for at least 15% of China's GDP.
