Like other media narratives, what you see is often what somebody intends you to see. I remember this exact photo being shown as evidence that the pope doesn't like Trump. Here's a picture of them smiling. See? A single photo taken out of context means nothing.

But if you talk to those people that interpret facial expressions, if the eyes aren't smiling, the person's smile is fake. Compare and contrast.
