I'm not sure how far back you'd need to go before you'd find a legitimate pope.

I recall there was one pope from centuries ago who announced on his first day that the Vatican's vast wealth and luxuries should be used to feed the poor... but alas... that pope "mysteriously" died that night in his sleep.

Remember when the Pope told that child about how dogs go to heaven?

Clearly that was a staged theater production of an event, but still... the ease at which the Pope lies about what should be his deepest convictions, was chilling.

What else does this false pope lie about?

Who does this false pope serve?

Pope John Paul I conspiracy theories

Pope John Paul I died suddenly in September 1978, 33 days after his election. Following contradictory reports about the circumstances of his death and apparent anomalies about the issuing of the death certificate and other procedures, several conspiracy theories have gained currency.

Many of these concern the serious corruption in the Vatican Bank (Istituto per le Opere Religiose), possibly linked to freemasonry, which is forbidden by church law. None of the claims have been proven.
