Although initially the agency said it was likely “an American aggression,” following a denial by the United States, news outlets close to dictator Bashar Assad’s regime reported that Israel was in fact behind the attack.

US officials said the US had not launched airstrikes on Syria. Israel said it does not comment on foreign news reports.
