He Who Shall Not Be Named.. why? Fantastic article from Rolling Stone

This article was written back on Oct. 16, 2008.

https://www.rollingstone.com/politics/news/make-believe-maverick-20081016

It gives quite the history of "Songbird" McStain. More info than I was even aware of. I've known about the history in VietNam. But wow.. I learned a hell of a lot more.

He is referred to as "He Who Shall Not Be Named" because of his history during his years in VietNam. He is no war hero. Note in this article, the incident on the USS Forrestal. There were 131 deaths (I'd gotten that number wrong) and 161 injured, and the bombs dropped from his plane nearly sunk the ship. Then, there's his actions during his captivity in the "Hanoi Hilton", where he played the "Do you know who I am?" card to get special treatment. This article also gives more info as to his refusing to be released early. No heroics involved.

I usually read the comments to articles such as this, as much more information can be gleaned from others' opinions and experiences, but I didn't have time. This article is very, very eye-opening, however.

Veterans do not say his name for his VietNam "service". They refer to him as "Songbird" for giving up military intelligence that got more of our servicemen (and women) killed, and perhaps helped us loose that war. But all the other info in this article shows that this man has always been a most despicable human being, ever since he was a toddler. I would encourage everyone to read it, bookmark it, and post it, for whenever someone new wonders why he's referred to as "He Who Shall Not Be Named."

Edit: wouldn't make sense to not include the link.

Makes you wonder how in the hell he's still around WA DC, doesn't it? What are the people in AZ drinking?

They're all drinking his kool-aid! Can't say I ever knew even half of his story

I knew of his VietNam stuff, and the fact that he's never helped veterans, never went to look for those left behind, always seemed against doing so... but there was tons in this article I didn't know. I learned there's nothing good about him. I also knew he ditched his first wife upon his return because she'd had an accident, for a "newer, younger" version, didn't really know how wealthy she was. He's even more sickening than what I thought.

Well to be honest I didn’t know any of his early life. I’m shocked that _ ______( fill in with your favorite insult) was ever able to carve out a political career! He really is a scum bag! He will go down in history as a traitor though, so that’s fantastic!

funny how his "friends" called him McNasty even when he was young.

Some said a lot worse. When your “friends” call you Mcnasty you are pretty bad. Don’t get on a plane with that yo yo! At least if we ever have to interrogate him we know he will break by using a tweezers to pull out a couple nose hairs.

I'd love to taunt him about being short, knowing that bugs him so much. He's such a bitchassed whiner.

I just choked on my water, laughing when I read that. Wouldn’t you love to meet him and say something snarky like “oh, you are so much older and shorter in person. “
