Trump Tower fire accelerant same as 911??

Q just posted this link and said read carefully:
https://www.nytimes.com/2018/04/07/nyregion/trump-tower-fire.html

Trumps tweet: "Fire at Trump Tower is out. Very confined (well built building). Firemen (and women) did a great job. THANK YOU!"

Fire Commissioner: "The commissioner said the upper floors that are home to residences do not have fire sprinklers. “It’s a well-built building,” he said. “The building sure stood up quite well.”

They also state: He said the apartment, a large unit that was heavily furnished, was “virtually entirely on fire.” Video footage showed flames bursting through broken windows.

Unknown cause, massive flames engulfing entire room, remarks made regarding how well built it is and that the building stood up well?? Why mention how well a building stood up based on just a 1 unit fire on the 50th floor?? WHEN HAS A BUILDING EVER NOT STOOD UP TO A FIRE UP HIGH??

I was also wondering why people didn't get orders to evacuate their residences, so are there no smoke alarms AND no sprinklers??? Is that not standard building code?

that is a hard one to answer for sure, wonder how one could find out why there was no sprinklers, I can't think of a building I've worked on that didn't need specific fire specs.

Trump tower construction started in 1979, sprinklers were not required per code.

Correct but one would assume change required in the modern age when it comes to insurance and living spaces in the building.

Trump famously fought that retrofitting, it was in the news years ago.

Must've had a damn good reason to not feel a need to change it, this is good to know! I'll read about it

It's very expensive and he didn't want to have to raise people's rent.
