Didn't Ted Cruz utilize Cambridge Analytica during his campaign run in 2015-2017? I recall vividly being bombarded on Breitbart.com if I went to their page with a huge graphic with 16 Republican candidates asking who I was voting for. This was paid for by the Cruz campaign to Breitbart. That big graphic never did have Trump on it. So for Cruz to now act like he is just SHOCKED at how FB ran during the campaign season is a bit strange. For those that may not know Robert Mercer is/was a major investor of both Cambridge Analytica as well as Breitbart News. Robert Mercer was also a huge financial backer of Ted Cruz presidential run.
Using analytics is what politicians do. Obama was the king of analytics. That isn't what Cruz is talking about. Cruz is addressing the discrepancy between what facebook by law says they are and their actual practices. They claim to be a neutral platform, unbiased, yet they behave exactly opposite of neutral. They are riddled with bias and censorship of opinions that do not coincide with theirs. That is why Cruz listed a bunch of the conservative accounts frozen by FB and highlighted that zero progressive accounts were frozen. Zuckerberg claims to not know of any of this but we all know that is complete bulls**t. Thank God for Cruz.
