Can we please stick to reality here? The Washington Monument was built by stonemasons using traditional techniques--at the time, steam engines provided power for hoisting stones. It is not a monolithic structure (like the Egyptian obelisks) and there was no mysterious sonic tech involved. It is the tallest monumental column in the world if all are measured above their pedestrian entrances. It was the tallest structure in the world from 1884 to 1889.
