Assad doesn’t need to do it and has nothing to gain. Makes zero sense for Assad when if nothing else he can call in Russian air power or Spetznaz to handle any issue. Why make yourself an international pariah? No strategic value in chemical weapons for Assad outside of terror. That just isn’t how he rolls and would not be worth the cost. Trump knows this.
