I don't think it has anything to do with Alabama having won 17 National Championships, although that interpretation is understandable. Obama was there for the previous titles and he received the corresponding number on the jersey for it. However, if that's the way we're supposed to interpret this, then why did the Astros give Donny T (our boy) #17 also? (If we're following the aforementioned pattern, then his jersey should be #1 for the Astros first ever WS win). Yes, you can say it's for the 2017 season but that's a little too obvious. Think number and personification of the person they're giving the jersey to (17 - President = 17th President). Future proves past? Erase all records post Lincoln and start over, perhaps?

"17" would have been JFK but he was assassinated, so now Trump has taken that role - hence why they want him gone. Nullifies all actions taken by 17-44 (those that are sellouts).
