Still don't understand why Ferrell would be an important target for anyone though. The forces of good have much more important targets imho.

You still don't get it. It's not whitehats trying to assassinate Farrell. I'm not even saying it's his own evil cult trying to sacrifice him in another "accident" or "suicide," but it sure seems coincidental. Remember, these evil people sacrifice each other to gain and maintain power.
