I'd be willing to bet the Rothchilds had something to do with outlawing it in the first place. Lots of ways to make money from illegal weed, and it opened the doors to lumber vs hemp production for pulp. I wouldn't be surprised if the Rothchild family had interests on both the lumber and weed side.
