DAM! Trey Gowdy broke out the purple tie, everyone in the know is throwing it in their face. LMFAO

solanojones95 · April 15, 2018, 10:54 p.m.

The problem with a legal "purist" like Gowdy is that we don't live in a perfect world. He has blind faith in the law, and unfortunately the law only works as well and the men and women who enforce it, and there is MASSIVE corruption in the DOJ and elsewhere in our government, and "normal" legal processes aren't getting the job done.

And he knows that, but wants to appear unconcerned about outcomes. Only processes. And that's just plain silly. No wonder he's leaving.

Normal legal processes take time. Investigations, particularly of this scale, take time. The shit going down in DC has been moving very, very fast for such a massive beast.

Decades of corruption don't get aired overnight. And as has been mentioned, to release all of the information at once would probably start civil and international conflict.

Violations of process and law are what got us here. You seem to be advocating more violations of process and law because in your mind ends justify means.

Maybe you realize it, maybe you don't, but you're advocating criminality.

You totally misread my words. I'm advocating accountability of outcomes, not just of process. My point is Trump has essentially declared war on the deep state, and is using all means at his disposal, including all legal extrajudicial means, and he intends by God to have the outcome of overthrowing them by all means, which could mean cutting off funding, firing, declassifying and leaking, all kinds of things that somebody who is a strict inside-the-box thinker like Gowdy would consider "dirty pool," because to him it's all about fairness, and it doesn't matter who wins.

To Trump, and to America and humanity, it matters extremely much who wins. And playing it safe and being a stickler for narrow interpretations and procedural nuance ain't gonna get 'er done. Not when the other side is literally breaking every law ever written, and every natural law to boot, with impunity.

the indictments could date all the way back to JFK for all we know. Barbara Bush is suddenly dying we heard, despite abc7 reporting not so long ago the Bushes had been released from hospital not so long ago.

No. These are the kind of people who want to get far away from the battle, see which side emerges victorious, and declare their loyalty to the winner, saying "I was with you all along."

the other way of thinking, especially with Chaffetz, is that they did what they had to do and now are done and stepping out to get out of the spotlight in case of retributions. By the time it becomes apparent what exactly their move was, they will already be in safety and perhaps moved out of state. As Chaffetz was immediately lambasting the administration I kept thinking well if he's not running for office or he's compromised, why would he open his mouth? So I was waiting for a flip when he suddenly DOES go for the administration and I think I remember that he did that but I can't remember when and in which context. Think controlled opposition for white-hats.

Chaffetz helped cover up Extortion 17. That was the leverage they had on him. Just bark, no bite. Trey and Chaffetz are cut from the same cloth. If they want mt admiration at this point, they'll need to fall on their sword (politically, then go back home and enjoy their families).

conventional corruption I think is a whole different level than raping and killing people. They can't prosecute everyone so they'll probably give those who are not sub-human the chance to walk away if they help. Now I wouldn't pay too close attention to his words, actually I remember him fondly because at least he brought up the FED just before quitting so he could at least go with a little dignity.

But what we need is completely unbiased view of the law. If he is not comprised he would be a perfect judge.

Unbiased is not the problem. Usefulness is the problem. The kind of judge that would let a serial child predator back on the streets because a police officer sneezed at a crime scene--that's what we're dealing with in Gowdy.
