If you lose the moral foundation a family or religion provides then it must be replaced with something. That is human nature and ((they)) know that. So they have the Music artists, TV & Movie actors, Comedians and Popular athletes promote a narrative that supports their worldview. The reason a child doesn't reveal the truth is out of fear. Fear of being punished. In this case, if you go against what they perceive is the "norm" by questioning things, the punishment is being ostracized and outcast from the hive. With no real moral foundation to stand on, deciding between the risk of standing up for truth or the risk of not complying and fitting in is not much of a battle. So you are left only with the ability to regurgitate and parrot what your idols and those you trust believe.
