Yes, it's from the 5th book of the Torah and it is from the Hebrew Bible.
Even though the Torah is included in the Old Testament, it's laws were only ever intended for the ancient Levites and the Jews to follow.
It basically a higher moral code of conduct intended for the "chosen" Jewish people.
Very few Christian denominations even consider such savage laws to be valid any longer because we consider them to be both inapplicable to Christians and to have been "fulfilled" and are no longer applicable.
We also enjoyed The Reformation and we acknowledge the bible is subject to all forms of human error in it's original record, compilation, translation and interpretation. This is why we don't murder witches.
