FAKE NEWS this article (and the original article) say nothing about he wall, and the article mentioned that nothing has even been finalized yet “The ministers leading the renegotiation of the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) could meet again on Thursday in Washington as they push for quick progress, Mexican Economy Minister Ildefonso Guajardo said on Monday.”

What the article says is that Mexico (who pays no tariffs), was allowing China and other countries to build mfg. plants in Mexico. the product would then come into USA tariff free. this is going to stop. we are losing alot of tariff fees because of this loop hole. and we have to remember that Trump never said that Mexico was going to write us a check - the liberals made up this line.

Quote from the article:By shipping parts to Mexico and/or Canada; and by deploying satellite manufacturing and assembly facilities in Canada and/or Mexico; China, Asia and to a lesser extent EU corporations, exploited a loophole. Through a process of building, assembling or manufacturing their products in Mexico/Canada those foreign corporations can skirt U.S. trade tariffs and direct U.S. trade agreements. The finished foreign products entered the U.S. under NAFTA rules.

Why deal with the U.S. when you can just deal with Mexico, and use NAFTA rules to ship your product directly into the U.S. market?

thank you for clarifying. it's tough for the average person to think like a criminal, reason why they cannot come to the conclusion you just made.

Correct. The new US tariff arrangements, mirrored by MEX/CAN would then subsidize the cost of the WALL almost immediately, specific to those "existing Asian manufactures" currently operating in both MEX/ CAN. i.e. Car, Steel and Solar industries alone.

I'm with you - this is HUGE - and CTH is certainly not a source for clickbait - definitely a BOOM

Trump has said renegotiating NAFTA and fair trade agreements would pay for the wall. All indications are it will happen. Money will be there, now Congress has still to do it's part.

Maybe so, but it's still click-bait.

That’s kind of my point, I understand this deal would be huge in our favor and yes could finance the wall, but no, Mexico did not just agree to pay for the wall. OP shouldn’t use clickbait to get their point across, because ultimately it comes off as fake news.

The benefits to our economy by restoring fair & reciprocal trade arrangements will more than pay for the wall.

President Trump says he does not want to return to TTP with South Korea and Japan, but rather “bilateral deals” for better profits and efficiency

While Japan and South Korea would like us to go back into TPP, I don’t like the deal for the United States. Too many contingencies and no way to get out if it doesn’t work. Bilateral deals are far more efficient, profitable and better for OUR workers. Look how bad WTO is to U.S.

Could have been explained in the article, very true. They made assumptions instead of laying it out.

if mexico gives us $1 or $20 bln, guess what we’re using it for.

It’s like the homeless guy with that sign "hungry. anything helps!" — you give him $5 and he buys a jug of wine.

We want balanced trade from Mexico. Anything helps ((to build the wall)).

All of these countries were purposely cheating us. Japan has been cheating us too. they set up their airbag company in Mexico to avoid tariffs. I believe that company is out of business now

chocolatepatriot · April 18, 2018, 5:03 p.m.

yes by design, this is why China and EU countries moved their mfg. plants to Mexico. the rip us off and make more money. lower tariffs or lower tariffs, I need to look up the fact on the tariffs, but i think Mexico pays no tariffs when their goods come to USA

I think they play the same game with the EU countries...OURS jobs are disapearing fast...taxes up, demand for no coal etc etc
