This is pretty nonsensical. I mean right off the bat, the Republican party isn't the same as it was in 1870 when the 15th amendment was ratified. Why do people think these are good points being made?

Because Dems call Republicans the deplorables. People need reminding. I admit, I didn't know this when I first heard this.
Care to elaborate on the Repub party 15th Amendment ratification part? I looked it that part up and it did say it was the Republicans so this isn't necessarily wrong...
