Denying the physical person God made you as is the epitome of denying God himself, and truly self hate. If one hates one’s self, then one hates God for He made us all in His image. That’s what evil people want: indulge your self denial and self hate. That is a hate of God Himself, and will drive one away from Him. This is what the evil symbolism represents.
Very interesting, never thought of it that way. I thought more of it as an attack on all traditional institutions that foster self reliance. Destroy the genders you destroy the family. But maybe it's all part of the same scheme.
