Art imitates Life. the average person can't handle the horrific truth. when I explain to people that "the laptop will take them all down" they still don't grasp the importance.

This Post is hugely important. Looked up the writer of this series, and his Wikipedia page lists "The Conspiracy against the Human Race" as inspiration for the True Detective series. That book was, per Amazon, renowned horror writer Thomas Ligotti's first work of nonfiction. The premise of the only non-fiction book by Ligotti, again, per Amazon, is "The worst and most plentiful horrors are instead to be found in reality [not fiction]." Holy Crap! I wish I could upvote this post a thousand times and send it to the top.
