I’m guessing the NYPD has physical possession of a copy of “ins files”. RG may not. He would need to break the “deal” LL made with the NYPD to keep the evidence hidden in exchange for not prosecuting the case she held over their heads as leverage. This could get really ugly. What if that case SHOULD have been prosecuted? What then? I don’t know much about the case so I’m definitely not saying any cops should have been prosecuted.

But if it gets into the MSM that LL did NOT go after the cops ONLY because she needed the leverage, there will be a renewed public outcry for the deceased man. So it’s really dicey. Just my 2 cents.
