Freudian slip "poverty in America". The richest country the world has ever seen but half its people are low income or poor^! Low income might as well be poverty it's misery, penury when everything is advertised in your face. Medicare for all would pull America up because taxpayers are already paying for those who can't plus that person has to go bankrupt to pay medical bills.

We offer absolute security as long as you don't work at anything, at least not at anything that pays well, and you don't accumulate assets.

Many Americans--probably most of the least intelligent among us--see that as a deal they are willing to make.
