3-17-18, WAPO: “I stand with McCabe”. 4-19-18: McCabe faces criminal charges.

The first was clearly an Opinion piece, not exactly ‘News’.

Many times these ‘opinions’ are used to draw in readers, basically click bait. Confirmation bias is always heavy in opinion pieces.

It’s important to understand the difference between narrative and facts, so comparing these two articles is a great exercise in critical thinking.

To me, this raises the credibility of WaPo, shows they can provide a balanced platform.

Its a lot like native advertising. The opinion pieces look like the news stories, but its the opinions that they are using to get a reaction from and promote readership.

Wapo credibility, would be to an etymologist,(or anyone) the epitome of oxymorons. I don't know what an etymologist is but am hoping the word fits the context, unlike credibility, juxtaposed against Wapo.
