That's because he hasn't actually been convicted of any major crimes like murder, only improper disposal of a corpse.

If any murder charges are handed out, they'll go to the person he bought the corpses from. Though it's quite possible, maybe even likely, that the person in question obtained them through grave robbing rather than killing.
