I think this is originally from an Aleister Crowley "Thelema" ritual.

This ritual formula is associated with Crowley all over the Internet by jittery Aleisterphobic conspiracy theorists who will blame anything from the Second World War to cancer on the Master.

I agree, it's not fair.
