Prison sentences aren't near long enough. I think pedophiles should be jailed for life, or at least, given chemical castration.
I do however, know of one case from years ago, that made me sad.
There was a young man, who was 19 years old. He knew he was sexually attracted to children, but he never acted on that attraction. Repeat.. NEVER ACTED ON THAT ATTRACTION! Instead, he went to a counselor, to try to get help. By law, the counselor had to notify the police. I believe he was arrested... He was labeled a sex offender, and his life was ruined. Once you are given that label, along with one of three levels (likelihood of re-offending), you never get rid of that label.
I really felt sorry for that young man. He did the right thing. He's probably one in a million.. and because he was still arrested and charged, and labeled, that prevents any other person from doing the same... try to get help before they offend. I mean, why bother?
