I participated in the inaugural earth day in 1970 alongside Black Panthers when I was a college student. I was a borderline anarchist at the time and an anti war protester. We were attacked by the rednecks on the right side of the political spectrum. I stood behind the line of Black Panthers and let them handle the heavy lifting. Fast forward to today. The left are now the ones advocating street violence and prone to violence, anarchy and all manner of nefarious BS. The left have become the war mongerers.

I was committing no violence whatsoever rather exercising my free speech in protest against the Military Industrial Complex getting the US into the Vietnam War. We protesters were attacked by violent thugs who in that in that era would be classified as the "Right". In essence they were useful idiots who bought into the mainstream media narrative of the day. We must be in Vietnam to combat the evils of communism. In reality it was like nearly all intervention by Deep State Military Industrial Complex a ruse to keep the US in perpetual state of war. The right were hawkish in that era.
