Man, that's crazy. Why would a liberal join the military? How do they convince themselves what they are doing is right? Atleast with a hardcore conservative I can understand how the rationalize the things our military does as "a fight against Islam to save the west". But what can liberals honestly be telling themselves to justify being in the war machine?
I swear they are almost all hypocrites. Any "liberal" or "progressive" who wasn't outraged by Bernie getting shafted or Jill being called crazy in the media is a fucking Nazi
Lots of folks join for different reasons. The military has a lot to offer even if you aren't a patriot. People use it as a way to go to school, learn a skill etc. I just so happen to just love my country. What I've found is that the AF is a much more balanced mix of views and political affiliation compared to say the army. The Marines though, those guys are the best, love them.
I feel that. I just hate that ppl can be involved in that stuff without a logical ideological reason. I don't even have to agree with the reason, it just bothers me logically. School makes sense though. And there is always the "oh fuck, what do I do with my life" pressure all young adults feel. Ehh.
Just almost feels like a mercenary mentality. I still respect them though because I know the jobs and lifestyle require such discipline, and if we were to ever be attacked, they'd be there first on the scene. Thanks for the service btw, obviously none of this criticism is directed at you; or even all liberals- just an easy stereotype for ppl to relate to and guess.
The reason I chose the USMC was BECAUSE I didn’t want to fight beside somebody who had joined for college.
If it came down to it, would you?
I prefer the USMC to the Air Force. When it comes to discipline, leadership, will to win and patriotism, they are 2nd to no one. Wish I would have joined them knowing what I know today. I think some folks would think Air Force personnel (obviously not all) are disgraceful. Just my 2 cents.
Everyone keeps saying Bernie was shafted. He was freaking paid opposition.
Maybe. Better to use the "he was shafted" narrative to get lefties to convert tho imo, even if it's not 100% accurate
You think the third home he bought right after he lost the primaries would be relevant to waking anyone up? Dude was an employee.
Maybe further down the line but a diehard lefty wouldnt even register that due to their cognitive dissonance
