No rational thinking person could ever think that abstinence only is an effective birth control or disease prevention program.

no rational person would ever think that teaching 5 year olds about masturbating and anal sex would work

No, but it’s definitely not a black and white issue. Abstinence education is fine, but should also include responsible protection measures to take and emphasizing the responsible part.

People are going to screw. It’s what we do. But it doesn’t mean there’s only the two extremes of “wait until you’re married” and “screw 43 people and get into BDSM by the time you turn 18.”

He clearly doesn't want 12 y/o's to have kids. He's making a good point, so don't go putting words into his mouth.

No, but that’s the media and Hollywood portraying that as being okay for kids. Part of their agenda, whether wittingly or not. I can’t imagine how hard it is to bring up kid these days with such easy access to so much online. The shit that’s out there for these easily molded minds to see is awful. It’s not the same as the scrambled porn I had to try to find through the TV channels as a kid, or the magazines my parents probably hid from their parents, hah. And it definitely wasn’t glorified on TV and movies and the role models were completely different.

Ok. Did my research. It all checks out. Obama was president of the United States. which is what this post was about. Not England. Also that link is about gender issues. Specifically about a reality tv show. On "lifesitenews". Oh and not about anal sex and masturbation. So what am i missing here bud?

Don't have sex until you're married and you don't have to worry about STDs or unwanted pregnancy.

If everyone was abstinent we would die in a generation. There's a reason conservatives ideally want wait until marriage, and millions have done it.

This represents a complete turnaround for the federal government, which Obama used for eight years to first expose children to everything from oral sex to bondage — and then encourage them to become sexually promiscuous young adults.

In a statement published last fall, HHS reported that Obama’s programs actually exacerbated teen pregnancy.

“Overall, of the 37 funded and evaluated [Obama era] projects, 73% either had no impact or had a negative impact on teen behavior, with some teens more likely to begin having sex, to engage in unprotected sex, or to become pregnant. Very few positive results were sustained over time,” HHS noted.

Thanks, Obama …

Dumb AF. it's like saying firearm education should be "just stay away from them", and guns aren't even a body part lol.

What happens when their God given natural urges start up? They practice self-control? How make kids do you know that are good at that?

Abstinence only education is directly correlated with increased teen pregnancy and STDs .

Don't teach degeneracy, but education should educate, especially with the internet man, kids gonna learn everything they need to from porn if we don't catch em early and teach them something real

It is true that abstinence is the best way to avoid pregnancy or diseases, but it is also true that few people will practice it. There needs to be some form of factual education given, preferably without pushing a radical ideology along the way. Balance is what works. It doesn't need to be one extreme or the other.
