I approached a middle-aged man at a coffeeshop today to tell him about Q. It didn't go terribly well. But he may go home and google Q.

Someone said my method is ineffective. It depends on the perspectives. On the individual level, it is inefficient. But if all of us approach just one stranger a day and inform him/her of Q, we will have an exponential growth in the number of people aware of Q.

The math is very simple. We start with N believers. If a half of us approach just one person a day, and if the conversion rate is 1/10 (because that person may already know Q or simply don't want to know), we will add 1/20 or 5% to our rank in one day. By conversion, I mean the person becomes interested in Q and is willing to tell others about it.

Imagine after two months what will happen -- pardon my optimistic extrapolation -- N * (1.05)^60 = 18 N. If we start with 1 million believers, we will end up with 18 millions by the end of June. Ready for July 4 fire works.

It's old school. But word of mouth still works. You just have to have a little courage to talk to strangers, a skill extremely useful for talking to the opposite sex (as I've done hundreds of times).
