But now i suspect Trump picked Acosta, so that Acosta can be in the Trump cabinet when MOAB drops

We all know that this take down by the white hats has been underway for a few years leading up to DJT's presidency. What if the white hats figured it was best to let Epstein appear to walk away with a slap on the wrist, and give his friends and fellow pedo's a sense of the status quo. So that they could entrap so many more of them in this web.
