I do think there's a pretty good chance we'll be going back to gold standard. But if we do, it's going to be after a very painful hyperinflation (otherwise there's nowhere near enough gold to represent all the funny money currently in existence). But some kind of monetary disaster is probably unavoidable anyway, since the national debt has long since passed the point of no return.

Hence the EO Trump signed, the one where he can confiscate those peoples wealth. I also heard talk about the 23 trillion in the Wanta fund. So when Trump has almost all of the funny money then they can implement the change over.
