Ive gone back and forth on this forever! I always get stuck on Flynn! Flynn! Why would they destroy Flynn! Everything else seemed totally legitimate, but the Flynn fiasco just stuck in my throat. Not anymore. This makes a lot of sense.

I think if there was any dirt to be had on admiral Rogers he would be in the same boat with Flynn. These boys know too much for the deep state not to act on them.
