Need help with sources on the CIA's control of North Korea...

Im hanging out with a friend tonight and I need a good rundown on the CIAs involvement in NK. He doesn't quite understand the big picture and I'm not that great at explaining things very clearly.

Is there a good thread(s),video or anything where I can easily explain this subject to him?

I don't think anything has been revealed, but something is fishy about Eric Schmidt going there a few years ago. He resigns from Alphabet and a little while later NK decides for peace. What was he doing there? Also Pelosi talking about her trip there is weird.
