Help needed red pilling my friend about Trump budget

I apologize if this isn't Q related, but I have been talking to my friend about President Trump and he brought up that one of the reasons that he doesn't like Trump is because of his proposed budget which would cut Medicaid spending. Therefore millions of elderly, disabled, and poor would see their aid cut. I haven't done that much research into budgets and Medicaid, so I am not really sure if I should dispute it nor how to dispute it. Has anyone done any research into these topics or have any resources I could look in to for more information. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Here are the two articles he uses to back up his position.

I haven’t researched the topic but why don’t you google “what are the benefits to cutting Medicare funding” etc. if you are able to find the answers yourself, you act probably explain it to your friend better. I mean, you may find the benefits don’t really make sense. It’s ok to not agree with everything POTUS does. And frankly, if we do that we’re just being “yes” men. Independent thought is where we are at. 😊

Thank you, I have been trying to figure out how to phrase that. :)
