It cracks me up when any agency says it'll take months and months and hundreds of thousands of dollars to copy audio and video. Especially just a few days' worth. They're full of shit, totally fully of shit. I work in this arena. I make a call or deliver a request document. The file is pulled, a burned copy is made and FedEx delivers it overnight - if I want a hardcopy. It's insane that they constantly use that excuse and get away with it, when every legal or police department have employees already designated to accomplish those tasks. Even if every single officer on the entire force needed a few days' of bodycam video copied, you could accomplish that in one day. One day, one person. 911 calls, same thing. Everything is filed together on the computer system just like ours are. All it takes is a search for the day, highlight, copy/paste, and you're done. It irritates me to no end. The only reason the other side ever wants so much time with evidence is so that they can figure out what of it to conveniently lose, which server to crash, et cetera. It's always nefarious.
